VARIOUS APPLICATIONS

F. W. Winter, Inc. & Co. manufactures a variety of special alloys in different size distributions for a wide range of applications.

Lump special alloys are used in a variety of melting applications throughout the steel and related metals industries. Coarse powders, 14 mesh x D, are used to manufacture injection wires for trim alloying additions to steel melts.

The 20 mesh x D powders are typically used in hard facing applications as alloying ingredients for overlays on steel structures for wear resistance applications.

Powders 40 mesh x D and finer are normally used in the manufacture of welding electrodes, both stick electrodes and flux-cored wires.

The fine powders are primarily used for powder metallurgy applications.
